What we collect

We collect what you give us and what we need to run the service:

• Your email address, when you create an account or fill in a form.
• Account details such as your plan and the startups you follow.
• What you tell us when you submit or claim a startup.
• Purchase records. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
• Basic usage data, such as the pages you visit and how you arrived.

Why we use it

To run your account, send you what you asked for, process payments, answer you, and understand which parts of the site are useful. We do not sell your data.

Startups and founders on the board

The board is built from publicly available information about startups and their founders. If you are a founder and want a correction or your listing removed, write to us from an address linked to the startup.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run the site, such as hosting, email delivery, payments and analytics, and only for that purpose. They process data on our behalf and under their own security commitments.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open or as needed to provide the service, and longer only where the law requires it, for example for payment records.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it or object to how it is used. Write to hello@whatitmakes.com.

If you think we handled your data badly, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
