The rules for using whatitmakes and its paid plans.

The service

whatitmakes is a board of startups and the revenue they make, built from public sources and from founders who share their numbers. Reading the board is free.

The numbers

Figures are shown as verified, self-reported or public, depending on where they come from. We check what we can, but the data is information, not financial or investment advice.

Your account

One person per account. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure.

Paid plans

Pro is billed monthly or yearly and renews until you cancel. Lifetime is a single payment for Pro for as long as the service runs.

Boost and Spotlight are single payments for a startup's listing. Boost runs for a year and Spotlight for 30 days, from the day the listing goes live.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, which may appear on your statement.

Submitting and claiming a startup

Only submit or claim a startup you run or are authorized to represent, and only share accurate numbers. We may decline or remove any listing.

Acceptable use

We may close accounts that:

  • Copy the board in bulk or resell its data.
  • Access the site in automated ways that disrupt it.
  • Impersonate a founder or a company.

Liability

The service is provided as is and may be unavailable or show outdated figures. We are not liable for decisions made on its data.

Changes

We will notify you by email before changes that affect you take effect. Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer where you live.
